These cell phones are offering games, web browsing, text and picture messaging as well as what was previously mentioned. These advancements in cell phone technology are combining many aspects of everyday life into one device. In this over communicative environment, people must think strategically about using ICTs to capture the attention of others (10). Many of the companies and people involved are thinking that the cell phone will soon be able to replace all other devices like the television, computer, radio, etc. While I do think that the technology will catch up with the concept, I do not think it will ever replace these devices. People love having convenience as well as options and diversity.
This concept of having cable television and high speed internet on a cell phone is amazing. I know that I personally would love to be able to have that right now. I would use it all the time for its convenience; however, I would never let it replace my television or computer because it is too small and I like being able to be on my computer while watching television and texting on my phone at the same time. It would be nice to be able to have the cell phone replace the modems and cable box tops, as mentioned in lecture. Being able to combine all of the bills onto one account by one service provider would be an ideal situation for many Americans.
This conceptual idea is being thought about very hard as we speak and there are people trying to figure out how to make it possible. I know that I would enjoy the luxury of this idea, depending on the cost. And I can not speak for all Americans but I do believe it will hit the ground running, so to speak. Only time will be able to tell the true future of this technology.

I like the topic of this article because it is very important to most young people I know that their cell phone include all of the extra functions. Texting, games, taking pictures, and web browsing are all important features for most people to have in a cell phone today. It is also leading towards the ultimate convergence device which is an important milestone in the future of technology. I do agree that the convergence could possibly be uneccessary or unwanted by society. I also like the point of combining all of these services into one bill that all Americans would pay. I think this is a very appealing idea and would catch on, but still televisions would not go obsolete.

The continuous technological improvements regarding cellular phones is highly fascinating and many great ideas were brought up in this article. New cell phones, like the iPhone, are practically mini-computers that you can carry in your wallet. It seems crazy that people can pay credit card bills while sitting in church on Sunday morning, or check sports highlights during your cousin's wedding service. These phones are becoming increasingly more accessible and affordable.
I also think it's very interesting how add-on features are just as important as being able to talk on the phone. I know people who text more than they actually talk their cell phone, and this is becoming more typical with younger generations.

Not going to lie when I first got a cell phones I just it to call people. I wasn't big on sending text and pix message. Actually I thought it was time consuming and pointless. But now about the only I don’t text are the people that don’t it on their phone. But as for cell phones getting rid of TVs and computers I say hell no. I mean the idea of it is cool, but the screens to small. So what’s the point of widescreen and HDTV’s? If you’re just going to watch your shows on your cell phone while riding the bus or sitting in class

I enjoyed reading this article, it is truly amazing how the cell phone is becoming more than just a phone to speak on. I do agree that I love the ability to choose and have options, and I would not want to replace my personal camera, computer or tv to have it all on my cellular phone. The ability to put all of those features on one, small cell phone is amazing and the technology and development of the cell phone is rapidly growing. I'm excited to see what will come out next for cellular phones. I do agree that the convergence of the cell phone with other technologies could be uneccessary and possibly something that in unwanted among our society. I believe having everything at the palm of your hand is too manufactured and machine/robotic-like. Although Americans are known for making things more sufficient and killing two birds with one stone, I believe we still with the option of choosing and enjoying separate technologies.

I completely agree with this post. While I like having the convenience of being able to check my e-mail on my phone between classes or being able to check out an answer on google, I still prefer to watch TV on my TV and use my cell phone at the same time for calling or texting. I understand that it would be convenient to have one bill and many people would like to have their cell phone be an all including device, but I just cant grasp this. I don’t want to watch my favorite TV show on a screen that’s smaller than my hand or type a term paper on something that small either. I’m all for expanding technological cababilities, but I still want my TV, computer, and phone to be separate. (townsend.671)
